Annual Report
2023
In 2023, Legal Services of the Hudson Valley (LSHV) continued its unwavering mission to provide equal access to justice for the region’s most vulnerable populations. Against the backdrop of a high demand for services and systemic inequities in the civil justice system, LSHV tackled pressing legal challenges with resilience and determination. Our efforts extended across dense cities and rural areas, addressing the needs of veterans, seniors, domestic violence survivors, children, and immigrants. Through strategic partnerships, innovative programs, and the steadfast support of donors, we made significant strides toward a fairer, more equitable society.
Our achievements speak volumes about our collective impact. This year, LSHV handled over 12,000 legal cases, directly impacting more than 23,000 Hudson Valley residents, while our intake hotline fielded upwards of 17,000 inquiries. What’s more, with nearly 5,000 hours of pro bono legal assistance, our volunteers exemplified the power of community-driven change. While we celebrate these successes, we recognize the ongoing challenges in closing the justice gap. With your continued support, LSHV remains committed to advocating for those who need us most, advancing justice, and transforming lives across the Hudson Valley.
